Over the past years, the City of Guayaquil has been faced with a tremendous urban growth phenomenon, generating critical challenges in terms of sustainable urbanization. In this fast-changing environment, Interagua operates, rehabilitates and expands potable water and sanitation infrastructures.

April 2001, 11th: Launch of the Concession Contract
between ECAPAG and Interagua, following an international tender procedure.
August 2001, 8th:
Beginning of the first 5-year period and launch of the “Los Angeles Program”, aimed at improving the potable water service organization.
November 2004:
Inauguration of the educational program “We are Water” to raise children’s consciousness about responsible use of water.
August 2006:
Launch of the second 5-year period and launch of the “Condor Program” aimed at improving control of water loss.
April 2008:
Interagua obtained ISO certifications including 9001:2000 and 18001:2007 for the potable water production plant “La Toma”.
