Interagua respects the principles of the Global Compact, contributing to the sustainable use of renewable resources (limitation of water losses, promotion of an efficient use of potable water through reliable technical solutions and targeted educational programs…). Interagua also undertakes initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and encourages the development and diffusion of environmentally-friendly technologies in the field of basic sanitary services.

Apart from implementing international labour laws, Interagua contributes to the dynamism of the local job market, generating and maintaining direct and indirect jobs. With the “Efficiency Convention 2007” Interagua also deployed a strategy to enable its employees to develop professionally and personally, strengthening their competencies and commitment.

Interagua also goes beyond its local impact at the service of the UN Millennium Development Goals, by fostering experience sharing. It accompanies the city to accomplish its international commitments, e.g. the Istanbul Water Consensus (IWC - 5th World Water Forum) aimed at reinforcing decentralization processes on issues related to integrated water resources management and global water governance.
